Assessment is about establishing a person’s potential as accurately as possible. Depending on the aim of such an evaluation, there are two types of assessments possible:

We have discovered over the years that executive assessment is seen in very different ways, by different users. Most these assessment techniques are valuable, because they cover different angles of perspective.
However, none of these techniques were created in Romania and, therefore, all of them ‘level out’ the local ‘population’ of participants, by assuming that the Romanian participants should / can be compared with the ones on which the assessment tools have been tested and fine-tuned. This is a dangerous assumption to make, in Romania, especially when targeting young participants, up to the age of 30, because the value system of the participants is rather different, along with many other ‘ingredients’ of their professional personality.
Few people know that Romania has suffered a lot of very powerful, distorting influences during the last 24 years, which affected the population substantially. Especially the young one. One of the most devastating such influences was produced by the education system (did you know that there are 296 universities in this country? Many of them have become – simply -diploma printing machines, which sell ‘credentials’ which are, obviously, worthless). Such influences have acted upon the entire population, but they were particularly devastating for the young people who entered school after 1990 (they are around the age of 30, now in 2014). There are also other such influences which can be easily explained (like the socio-political environment, the media, changes in the vocabulary and the lexis of the language, the entrance in the EU, etc.). This is not the place, though, where we can go further in this analysis.
For these reasons, we always wanted to create a local version of an assessment technique, which can identify the potential as an executive in participants who were not older than the age of 30-35. We have brought into the team a psychologist and we have worked for almost 2 years, but – in the end – we have created the first assessment tool which can cope with our problem, here, in Romania.
