Information is at the core of our activity. In order to do our work well, we need reliable information. We must be conscious that the arrival of the internet did not bring us only benefits, but also a lot of confusion as well, (which is mainly due to polluted information), along with a lot of illusions and misperceptions.
The most dangerous misperception created by the internet is the implicit suggestion that all the best professionals could be found on the internet.
This misperception is a major threat which will continue to affect our clients and our work. Another very damaging consequence of the power of internet is the fact that it empowers people to behave like ... products! They promote themselves aggressively and they spread information around knowing that nobody will have the time and the resources to check it.
Under these circumstances we simply had to change in order to maintain and upgrade the quality of our service and ensure the long-term sustainability of our Firm, starting with the way we see our role related to our clients and our candidates and ending up with the way we were used to do our work.
In the end, we know that the best professionals do not "sell" themselves on the internet. They don’t have the time to do it, but also – more importantly - the will to do it.
